I guess it's the hope of saving the relationship that keeps us hanging on to a relationship that has been lost.

Actually from my experience we get advice from everyone else and we know we should end it, but it is hard when you are emotionally attached to someone.. Even if you know it's not working, you still have some feelings left for that person... Hard to let go of things tied to emotionally... not to mention that love and hate are basically the same emotion or extreme feelings towards someone... The opposite of the two being indifference...

Because when you are in the relationship it is hard to see what is really going on. Afterwards, you can reflect on what was really going on.

Relationships bring comfort, even if they arent working, a sort of stability to a point and you just get caught in it til the big boom happens and youre done.
My ex and I knew we were done waaaaaay before we ended it, but we stayed because we still enjoyed the others company and it was just the knowledge someone was there, wether you needed/wanted them or not.It gets to be familiar and its hard to let go sometimes. |
