Leaving behind cinders and ashes My wings flaming as I streak across the night sky My cries piercing mortal ears Making them bleed and weep My back arched as I give one final scream Waking the dead from their dreams So high above the land I plummet Racing faster and faster toward the ground Making no sound Until I slam into the dirt Sickening crunch of bones Blood spattering and splattering the dry dusty dirt Quickly it seeps into the thirsty ground My remains turning to dust As if I never was.... |
