do u think opposites REALLY could make a good relationship work??? or do you think that generally the more similarites in the basic things....the happier you would be???
Similar goals and choices of entertainment help alot. Then again, I'm probably too easily entertainable. Two introverts will never meet, and two extroverts are as likely to fight as well as anything else. I doubt there's a single perfect equation that would match two people up with precision. The rest is probably compromises, open mindedness and willingness to explore new things. |

I took a class on Human Sexuality and Relationships. The truth is we are all drawn to people that are more like us than dislike us. We are drawn to those of the same socio-economic background, with the same religios preferences, habits, and hobbies. One reason is that these are the people we are more likely to come in contact with. Antoher thing is that goals for a long-term relationship must at lest come close in order for there to be a chance.

My parents are opposites and they've lasted almost 50 yrs. Not trying to be a booger here, but  Your parents time was way different then todays world. There is Lack of everything in the way people look at relationships today...

I don't know them, but most likely you are taking small differences in opinion and just calling them "opposite." They obviously agreed on getting married, having children, and have a pretty common set of values that guide their lives. Maybe the little things are different, but you can't have a lasting relationship when the big things are opposites. |

When my Dad was young, he was the black sheep of his family and my mom was a goodie two shoes. They became more similar as they became older though. |

Yeah for me it's VERY similar interests. It only makes the sharing of them more intense

As long as you have similar morals, ways of thinking and you communicate well most any other differences can be overcome
