Judge Mathis looks to be the judicial equivalent of that character Samuel L. Jackson played on "Pulp Fiction". All that's missing is the chrome handgun and that bible quote.

I can't believe people sign up for those shows!!! And those judges are ruthless for ratings!! Who in their right mind.... ? Must be big bucks or some other incentive, like paying off the debt for the loser.

I can't believe people sign up for those shows!!! And those judges are ruthless for ratings!! Who in their right mind.... ? Must be big bucks or some other incentive, like paying off the debt for the loser. They do it for the money. The show pays off BOTH the defendant AND the plaintiff in addition to whatever the judgment may be. Of course, both parties have to air their dirty laundry and take their verbal jabs from the judge in the meanwhile. I know this because my mom had gotten a letter from the "Judge Judy" show about taking her small-claims court case to them instead of actual court. Since my mom isn't a real big fan of being in front of the camera (that goes especially if she's gonna get chewed out by Judge Judy), she declined. |
