I got dumped yesterday. I only received a text and with no reason.It was only a six month relationship but I am hurting pretty bad.I have never been dumped before,just because I rarely date. How long does the heart break last for and whats the best way to move on?

There is no real time frame of when if or how. You take one day at a time and finally get back out there.

Put yourself first and do things you really like to take your mind off of things for a while.

Dumped via text??? Classy. Sorry that happened to you. There is no published timeframe, no rules at all... depends on how much of your heart was vested in it, how serious it was...some days will be worse than others. It's like the stages of grief -- anger, depression, denial, bargaining, acceptance. As with any grief process, you can go thru any of these stages in a matter of minutes...it's not deal with one totally and move on to the next stage. And as cliche' as this sounds...time does heal. Truly. Take care of yourself. Do what you enjoy. Focus on yourself. Don't try to jump back in to stay busy, take the time you need for you. You'll find that each day gets better overall...

All I know is it takes time. You can occupy yourself by doing the things you love to do to take your mind off of it. Or start doing something new.
