Topic: My family dog..

I think my family dog which is the second one we have. I think she is about to die, she isn't eating and her nose feels wet which means she should be feeling okay from what I understand.

But she is acting like her mom did when her mom was about to die on us, I mean we kept one of the puppys the mom had. However I think this one has cancel too I am not to sure though because she has bumps on her but we don't have that kind of cash to get her the help or pay for the vet bills etc, I mean they charge a lot and all.

So I don't know.

I feel bad about this because it's near the same month we put her mom down to rest.

Call your regular vet, if you have one, or call the humane society and ask for a referral. Explain your situation and ask them what the price of an office call would be. At least you can go and have the situation evaluated. My vet charges $20 for an office call. A good vet will go thru your options and the cost and not be judgemental. A good vet will also let you know if euthanizing the dog may be advised. May be all you need is $20 worth of antibiotics. You won't know until you talk to a professional. I understand your money situation and I know you want to do wants right. There is middle ground. flowerforyou

Yeah and I understand what to do, thank you for the advice.

John , I understand what you are going through . My family and I just yesterday had to have my dog euthanized . I have always taken excellent care of her and it just happens that she became very ill while my family and I are going through a rough patch financially . I called every animal hospital and vet within a 100 hundred mile radius and none were willing to make a payment plan . I had only $25 in my pocket until Friday when my Step Father gets paid . I could not stand to watch my sweet angel suffer until Friday so I called my local animal shelter . They offered to euthanize her for free and end her suffering .
The vet there was very kind and explained everything to me and I was able to be with my Dog until she went to sleep .
Good luck to you and I hope everything works out for you and your Dog .

Thanks for your support.

Along with every body elses.

Definitely talk to a vet or someone about managing with your financial situation. I'm not going to judge you as I know the situation in more extremes. Hope for the best mate!flowerforyou drinker

i agree, he needs to get some help, he cant let his dog suffer. if he lived near me, i would give him the money, it makes me  to know a animal is suffering.

You're not in his shoes. He needs our support, not something to make him feel worse. And, even if no one wants to admit it, any one of us could be in this situation. We have our pets that we love dearly and will do everything we can for them, but we have no control over Mother Nature or the economy or losing a job, etc.

You can say what you want and judge however you feel and all.

But I guess she ( dog ) is doing okay, I think some other people over reacted with in my family etc, then again not too sure what to make of it right now, but she seem's to be okay as of right now.

But I find it at odds that a good number of you people can sit back and say you can come up with the amount of money that a vet charges etc even though from what I know of because a vet can charge up to a 1,000 or more dollars depending up pound x rays and or what they do or hell just to speak to you or walk in, it's freakin crazy and I'm sorry I do not have nearly that much money.

Makes me rethink at times why the hell I am still on this very site when more and more people are so extremely rude and they aren't living in the same tough spot I am in and can judge some one else that isn't in there shoes etc.

As I said above as far as I know right now at 12:33 AM my family dog seem's to be alright, but then again like a person can be alright then again could change one never knows.

But sometimes I wonder about even why I bother staying on this site as I have said, because of how extremely cold heart some if not most of you people can be towards others you have no idea or clue because your not in there shoes etc.

As this old saying gass is always greener on the other side, well maybe not this side of the world it isn't.

I'm really shocked after trying to deal with what had seemed to be a bad day turning into an alright day after all, then coming back here and seeing this topic keep going and going. My goodness.

I don't know how any of you that makes those comments can even live with your selfs say these types of things etc.

I don't judge any body on here or any one for what they post or say etc, I wish every body noting but the best but then again I kinda find that hard to do when I turn around and get online and read responds like these's in this very topic.

I mean if any of you where in my shoes and family shoes, I would seem to have think you would have a different respond but then again probably not.

Hey I am a pet lover and always will be, I'd do anything for any one or body just about anything that is, but when times are tough and yet people don't seemly give a rats ass and say things like that have been said in here makes me wonder when will this world stop all the hatin and all, towards one another. But that probably won't ever stop at least not on this site.

Thanks to those who are being support towards me and those who are not well then sorry I am not a millionair and can't affored things you can.

but the truth is, dont have a pet if you cant afford vet fees.

if i couldnt afford vets fees etc, i wouldnt have a animal at all.

weve got my rabbit insured, thats fairly cheap and you wont have to pay for any ops etc, as its covered under the insurance. maybe look into that, it will save you any large costs. goodluck and i hope she gets better soon. flowerforyou flowerforyou

you said 'I don't know how any of you that makes those comments can even live with your selfs say these types of things etc'

the comment you made above is a bit harsh. thats the sort of things people say in a much more serious matter

also you said this

Debbie if i'm not mistaken your not even in the US ?
Things must be different here because there are no free clinics (atleast not in my area).
Unfortunatley we can't plan when our pets become ill . If someone has no money in there pockets how do you suggest they magically get money to take a pet to the vet in an emergency situation ?
This doesn't make someone a bad pet owner to fall on financial hard time .

weve had all our pets insured, then you get no big bill if somethings wrong, you just pay a very small amount every month. if you have a pet you must be sure you can afford vets fees. and if he cant afford it,he should find a free clinic.

I've never heard of pet insurance ??
Then only sort of free clinic i've heard of is a county run animal shelter/pound where I had to take my dog to be euthanized . If she had been treatable in order for her to recieve free medical care I would have to sign her over to the county and wouldn't be allowed to take her home .

practically most people with pets especially dogs and cats are insured, that insurance covers everything, apart from the first vaccinations. its the only way to go, if you know you couldnt afford to pay if anything happened to your pet. the insurnace is cheap about 7 pound a month. so if your animal needed major surgery your insured and you pay nothing.

Pet insurance is a luxury that most of us, who are trying to pay for regualr ins. for our kids, can't afford.

And there aren't many free animal clinics around because I wanted to bring a cat to the shelter and they asked if it had it's shots. When I said I didn't know, they told me to take it to the vet, pay for the shots and then they would take it.

But John, I hope your dog is okay.flowerforyou
