My baby goat just died on Monday and I have been a wreck ever since...Just asking,is there a time period where grieving ends or will it go on forever?

Lost of a pet hurts more than people say, they aren't all just stupid animals, especially when you get to know their personality.

Someone who wasn't a "great friend" (who now is) said to me while I was grieving.
"Joel.......you can tell inappropriate jokes, you can sob uncontrolably, you can sleep for 40 hrs strait." "The grief is "YOURS" and YOURS ALONE".....You can do no wrong because you own it. There is NO "wrong" way to grieve. That was some of the best advice I've ever gotten!

They say with people a year, but I think it varies with each person or animal. Bless you with that!

My dog and best friend of 8 years passed away a year ago. For me the greiving proccess will go on forever. But with time those feelings of sadness and dispair will start to slowly get replaced by the good memories you shared.

One of our goats[Mojo] got sick,had diarhea for over a month and another goat[MIllie] got sick and died.We were kinda worried about Simon because he kept getting worms and diarhea like the other goat...He needed a blood transfusion,but the vet wasn't prepared.So we took him home and he died that night. |

I'm so sorry.(((hugs)))) Seems like we had some goats that never got sick and others would look great one day and be deathly ill the next. Did you have a parasite problem? Seems that a large percentage of goats are developing a resistance to some of the most powerful dewormers available. Scours and anemia would be a couple of the symptoms of parasite overload. Are your goats on pasture? |
