If Hope had a color
It would be the many shades of pink One for every type of Hope we hold Even the ones that are deep. Hope colored ribbons That make women cry And Hope colored daisies We pray will never die If Joy had a color It would be the many shades of green Like every growing child Who loves to hum and sing Joy colored seeds Becoming great mighty trees And Joy colored feelings Entering our memories If Freedom had a color It would be the many shades of blue Soothing and restoring All of the destruction that we knew Free colored birds Soaring high in the sky And Free colored voices Sounding our cries If Passion had a color It would be the many shades of red Vibrant to dull It really knows no end Passion colored lips To kiss the ones we love And Passion colored dreams We hold dear to us If Friendship had a color It would be the brightest shade of yellow To pierce the darkened path And reveal its wondrous power Friendship colored hugs When your day was not just right And Friendship colored laughs To cure our wounded souls If fear had a color It would be the dullest shade of orange Radiating like fire When you least want it around fear colored wishes That may or may not come true And fear colored highs That may fall all too soon If sadness had a color It would be the darkest shade of black So we may see the light within Which we often think we lack sad colored emptiness We feel needs to filled And sad colored nights When the sky cowers behind the clouds Through the blackness A little yellow Friendship shines through Giving us bright pink Hope In an orange filled world Blue Freedom gives us green-green Joy That all our reddest Passions Will come true Before the world turns to darkness again.
