i was wondering if any parent would know the difference between a cold
and an allergy since both have similar symptoms?

What they always told me was that colds last 10 to 14 days, if it lasted
more than that it was likely an allergy. Not much help, I know. Really
frustrating dealing with allergies.

if the allergy meds are working that is probably what it is. My kids are

seems to go away. Hope you figure it out. always a bummer haveing sick

Allergies in kids are so hard, it is better if you can figure out what
the allergy is to and eliminate it. Has he been tested for allergies?
Have you had the RAST test (blood test) for food allergies? Taken him
off dairy to see if he is allergic to dairy?? Sometimes I think the
body just gets used to the meds and they stop working so well and have
to try a new one. Is really hard to deal with. I quit taking any and
just put up with my sinuses bugging me. If they get bad enough then I
treat them, otherwise try to ignore them.

May have to try a couple of specialists for opinions but allergies are
really hard to deal with in kids, been there, done that, and still doing
that with the grandkids. Grandson is milk allergic, and others.
Granddaughter and drink milk, but had other allergies.

You can take your kid to a allergy doctor. they can do these skin test
which are a lot less harsh then making the child go threw having their
blood taken. I have to have my son tested every 2 years. Your family
doctor can give you a referal to one.
