How hard it was to get your job? How is the job market for teachers where you live?

They give teachers here a sign on bonus just to get them here in NC.

I'm trying to educate everyone on the importance of bananas in your diet.

I teach 6th grade...it was easy to get the job but the pay sucks

My daughter works as a Sub in the school district that she graduated from. And the only requirement was she had so many College hours.

so how important are bananas in a diet????

I'm finding that every day is an education.

I applaud teachers...wish I would have been one.

I live in westchester county new york... and seriously its almost impossible.. everyone around here ends up going to teach in new york city cuz there are virtually no jobs.

It sounds like it's much harder to be a teacher here in CA than elsewhere. I'm not sure that leads to better schools.

Our school district is getting rid of good teachers without telling anyone why, yet have to go to the Phillipines to recruit teachers to fill the spots they forced to be vacant. The school board regularly backs down to the parents rather than support the staff, even if the students or parents have done something wrong. The Superintendent is married to the County Attorney, so they find ways to get away with these things and still come out smelling like roses. I have the greatest respect for most teachers, but I feel for them as well. Kudos to all of you who genuinely love doing the job and teaching our children despite the long hours and low pay.
