I used to be an audio tech (ok fine, audio helper) and our bread and butter for repeat business was from those with Lucas wiring... Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston, etc. Some of the top names in the automotive field. All we could do is plug holes and fixing what popped up, we kept telling folks they needed a new electrical system.
...And if you hear an urban legend of a little white Nissan Sentra racing a Ferrari F1 all out through the streets of Tulsa, it's true. Sad thing is, the tuned (not buzz-bombed ricer, efficiency tuned) Sentra won. Have we reached the point where it's all about numbers? Is there no pride of craftsmanship anymore? |

Sad to say, the name brands are nothing any more...merely a marketing ploy and unfortunately the younger consumers fall for it hook line and sinker...

It's true in my field we are going back on more and more service calls to replace brand new parts, granted these companies still have longer warranties now but try explaining to customers that just spent a ton of money for new systems why it broke already

It's true in my field we are going back on more and more service calls to replace brand new parts, granted these companies still have longer warranties now but try explaining to customers that just spent a ton of money for new systems why it broke already How about some companies now they give a five yrs warranty and no support after so you need to buy something new, if they break down after 5 years. In one case I know a customer that the equipment failed on the next day the warrany ran out. Do they design it with a timer inside to know when to die? Lets name them and shame them Tektronix |
