plenty of nice places.I've stayed at the mirage,ceaser's,new york new york but don't stay at circus circus had too one yr a big convention was in town cause all other hotels were booked

I was just in Vegas and stayed at the Mandalay Bay... absolutly awesome

I stayed at the Luxor, it was one of the more less expensive places. I loved it, but it is at the far end of the Strip. But weekday prices were unbelievably low.

and the luxor and mandalay have a free train ride to the strip right from the hotel

Some of the smaller hotels off of the strip are pretty good as well as cheap, too. The one I stayed in the last time I went there was a place called "Boulder Station". It's got all the amenties the on-the-strip hotel/casinos have, from the concert stage, to the buffets and restaurants, to the slots and the other casino-related fare.

And- since you're not in one of the big-box hotels, you're not subject to the overcrowding and the presence of other tourists that would be present otherwise. So you can enjoy Vegas without having to be subject to the negatives of the place.

I hear the Hard Rock is the place to go people watching, though.
