If you spend weeks/months getting to know someone online....talk on phone for hours upon hours...do the yahoo web cam thingy (non-cyber for you dirty minded peeps), Is your first date really your first date?

I've done the web cam/phone deal and I would say that one's first "date" really is via the web cam. It has all of the elements of a first date (and subsequent dates). You can see the other person, their mannerisms and can talk to them at the same time. I like to compare it to meeting someone for coffee. The only real difference is two are not physically together, so no first date kisses or hugs!

No, not really because you've already gotten to know a lot about that person. My bf and I talked online all the time and on the phone and I was already comfortable with him when we first met and usually I'm nervous, so I'll stick with no.
