I AM A CHRISTIAN. I have no problem with others beliefs, I just find the Christian bashing a little harsh. I tend to not speak up when someone groups ALL of us Christians together in the same group of people. Some of which I will note show a certain lack of tolerance, but please remember, not ALL of us are like that and it shows your ignorance to place a negative thought on a group of people, many of which you dont know and have failed to try to know. Some Christians or Some people might think like that but it is not ALL of us. Thank you.

I agree it is easier to be a christian than a lot of religions, but if you understand the basic thought of this thread, I am just asking for some tolerance like I try to show every member here. |

Interesting title for your topic. As from one Christian to another, the above reference is true. If you want to be distinguished as "the good Christian" then show it in every act, and word that comes out of your mouth. I'm always getting asked what I am too...Sometimes I would love to see the look on their faces when I tell them I'm a solitary practitioner.

And yes, I know that Christians are not all alike. I don't bash Christians. I bash intolerance. I bash ignorance. I seen nothing wrong with Oprah and when a person calling herself or himself Christian calls Oprah or anyone "dangerous" because of their money, belief or influence on people, I want to know why they think their beliefs are any less "dangerous" than hers. The answer of course, is that Christians think they are right and everyone else is wrong. Oprah has stated that their are other ways to God and Christians are upset about that because they claim that theirs is the only way to God. If that is not true, please correct me. It is not bashing anybody to speak the truth. JB |

Therefore, it's impossible to have a rational, logical, conversation when talking of many percieved truth's by other's. These types of thread's will never produce harmony, which i believe you believe in? So why participate and this goes for the other's?? why? |

When I post a response to someone's opinion, I am not preventing them from having an opinion. What kind of conversations could you have with anyone if all we were allowed to do is post our opinions and nothing more? It would just be a bunch of different opinions. It would not be a conversation would it? What would be the point in that? You can disagree with me all you want, and I welcome your different opinions if you want to talk about them in detail, I am happy to. But when I see injustice and prejudiced statements against other people like Oprah or anyone because she is sharing her beliefs in public, and people calling her dangerous, I want to know why they think so and what gives them the idea that their beliefs are any less dangerous? I still await the answer to that. JB |

It seems to me JB is all you're asking for is for people to back up their opinons / beliefs. Not calling them "wrong" just wanting them to explain and back up why they feel the way they do. There's nothing wrong with that.
