Okay with 1000+ users on here SOMEONE out there has to know a little more then I do about cars. I know how to fix most cars (or at least the ones I own) but this one is starting to annoy me. When one of my headlights burnt out on my car a few months back my dash lights stopped working. Ive checked the electrical and i don't see any problem. The bulbs in the dash are fine and so are the fuses. I don't know if there is a short or if the dang burnt out headlight could have damaged the instrument cluster lights. Its possible but seems unlikely. Anyone have any clue before i spend money I don't have to get this problem fixed? I'm getting tired of using LED Flashlights to see how fast I'm going on the freeway.

Some of the switches are funny, on some cars if you twist the headlight knob it adjusts the dashlight power.

it could be a simple ground lose,,,,,,,or on some models there is something that will take out th whole system,,,,,,if you can get to your head light switch,,,,,,,,,,check for voltage coming every teriminal,,,,,,always start at th source

I guess, I was flunky to some very smart people until something rubbed off, no letters of my own.

Either the dimmer switch circuit has failed at or is the switch..Have the switch tested...

If that is good, the actual circuit board of the cluster may be bad, some can be repaired, some need replacing...

Did you change it with the power on or off?

Ive tried it every way still no dash. Once in a blue moon i'll be going to Seattle and the lights will come on until i turn the car off but then of corse, no more dash lights after that no matter what i do.
