Does anyone truly have insight if so let him/her speak? Is there an everlasting sin. In Mark 3:29 It mentions blasphemy against the holy spirit what does this mean. Can anyone know what Jesus really meant.

i was told at one time that taking ones own life is an everlasting sin..........but i chose to discard everything i was told

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is the only unforgivable sin, according to the words which have been attributed to Jesus...

Well, a large part of the answer is in the story quoted.

Jesus was speaking to scribes that accused him of having a demonic spirit because he cast out deminc spirits.

He said, then, a house divided against itself cannot stand.

If Satan cannot rise against himself, how should God rise against God?

He then warned them because they had said of him that he had an unclean spirit.

So, the Holy Spirit, first given to the apostles on Pentacost after the Cross, has been Jesus' hand, the finger of God, ever since, in the world of man.

That means, "all errors are forgiven man and all blasphemeis" as written in Mark 3:28.

But the Holy Spirit is the head of the Church, Christ, dwelling in the hearts and minds of the Church...called also, "the Mind if Christ", and also "The Comforter" whom the Father sends in ther name of the Son of God, Jesus, as God's part in the baptism of water and spirit.

The water is on us, as the answer of a clear conscience towards God.

The Holy Spirit is God's part, as the answer of God that our witness be of God not man.

But when it comes, there is a falling in love with God so deep, so encompassing, so overwhelming with joy unspeakable, that the last thing one would do would be such a thing as villify such an awesome love as that.

It would have to be a blaspheme from the Church which is people, and i don't believe that is a possibility. I just cannot fathom such a thing.


The word in Greek is blasphemeo, meaning to villify ; specifically, to speak impiously: blaspheme, defame, rail on, revile, speak evil.

it comes from the word blasphemos meaning scurrilous, or calumnious (against man), or impious (against God)

This word in turn, comes from two words.

The first is, blapto, a primitive verb; prop. to hinder, i.e. (by implication) to injure : -hurt.

The second is pheme--fay'-may.; a saying, i.e. rumor.



It implies that one must know the Holy Spirit and not gossip about the Holy Spirit, basically.

Now, granted, that is not what Jesus appears to mean in the passage in Mark 3,(by warning the religious men of his day).

But just looking at the word ,and how it comes to be from the two roots comprising the word, gives a very basic concept to the thought conveyed by the word itself.

When Jesus says , "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life", he means by all means that the Holy Spirit is how that applies to his own. (John 15: all.)

At the end of the day, we must all be mindful that the Holy Spirit is in men and women today, and at any time, one may be hearing the Holy Spirit speaking through any one of them.

Sobering thought, isn't it?

For one who has experienced and welcomed this indwelling of Spirit, the sense of perception will be forever altered. With a careful nurturing accompanied with a genuine desire towards becoming a better person, the worldly fingerprint becomes exposed, and the clarification of Spirit will redefine one's own personal sense of ought.

Spirit('God') is really unexplainable, and cannot be contained by definition...

If words can describe it, then it is not the true way...

What this scripture is referring to, is rejecting God ...over and over and over....when the Holy Spirit keeps nudging at a man's heart to accept Jesus....but the man never does..and ends up cursing Jesus and blaspheming the Holy Spirit....even while dying in his sins..still rejecting God.
