You are okay, star. I am partial to Jerseys because they give more cream. No offense to Black Angus because I am told they make good mothers or even to Herefords because I am told the beef quality is good. I guess I am more of a Bordenite because I like the contented type.laugh

How important is the faith (or lack of) of your significant other in relation to yours? Do you see potential problems with different views or can you live with the differences?

John and I agree to dis-agree at times,, yet taking and giving to each to complete the circle of life between us,, My Yin to his Yang,, We kinda balance the realm a bit,,,

Star_Tin...if the unbelieving mate is content to stay with the beleiving mate.....then there should be no problem.....

But the believing mate should just allow Christ to work in the unbelieving mate's life...and just continue loving the unbelieving mate as God loves that person....

God is the One who is able to save to the "Uttermost" ..and not the believer, by the way.

Let God do that part.. the believer's part is just to love that unbelieving mate....as Christ does.

God says, if one saved in a house......then that whole household shall be saved..in due time.

What that means is... the saved person will usually win the unsaved loved ones....just by his own christian walk ,alone.flowerforyou

Yeah. You're right. I guess I have been paying too much attention to my dog. My sister told me since is about to have puppies that I should feed her more because she is going to be more hungrier because she is in the family way. I should of have remembered that about cows. I just haven't checked any cows out in a long time; I have been paying more attention to women. We used to have the Jersey on the farm growing up till it got massititis? sp. By the way being an animal person would you know what would be the best food for a pregnant dog? She is half Spitz and half German Schnauzer and she mated with a Chiachua? sp. You know one of those Spanish dogs. I can't wait to see what the puppies will look like.

Since my dog and me would be unequally yoked and the cow I guess I was wondering about Rebels and Yankees if that could work.

George Barna of The Barna Group has done some studies regarding divorce and how it plays out over lines of faith. The results are pretty interesting.

35% of Born Again Christians have been through at least one divorce. On another site "Faith Works" (www.faithandvalues.com) it is pretty clear that Christians (at least through 1999) had a higher, yes higher divorce rate than both atheists and agnostics.

24% of Christians had been divorced while 21% of atheists and agnostics. While the stats are close in number it is also clear that the "faithful" don't seem to have a monopoly on the sacred institution of marriage.

If anyone can find numbers that are more current I'll be happy to amend my post. And while I understand that the point of the post was to ask about whether being unequally yoked was a good idea or not it appears (at least to some extent) that being equally yoked provides no promise of success.

His faith beliefs will not bother me as long as he does not try to convert me into it. I will respect his if he respects mine.

As a third year bachelor I have found the faith issue not to be that big compared to other issues. I think there are other issues that respect falls into though when it comes to the mutual aspect. Keeping on topic with the 'unequally yoked' which can get to be a broad topic I have found that I have had to clean up my act with being around women with children. For instance, I have found out that some have cleaner houses than me which may be because they have kids. I am just realizing some of this. As I try to accentuate some of the positive I can't help but focus at some of the negative. It has had an effect on how I have viewed things. Some of the things that I have become accustomed to might shock someone that I might want to be potentially yoked to.
