Topic: The future computer! | |
---|---|
In 2000 Bell labs who was cited as having every major invention in the 20th century of our electric world.
Announced they had developed a whole computer that was faster than anything on the market at the time that was on a single chip. This may be hard to believe but this included everything we have in a computer besides the power supply and bus. Hard drive, memory, video, processor. It is hard to imagine where we are at now. I would have to believe this is our top Military computing power today. What is hard for me to believe and wonder what is going on is they were owned by ATT. Noww Att became cingular then cingular became ATT then Bell Labs was sold to the French company Altell. I believe they are the largest cell phone provider in Europe. among other things they do. I would Question How Big ATT is actually in the world and what tech. they really have as the Internet when being designed was tested through them and Bell Labs. In the Mid 90's Att started testing a cell phone in Montana that would be a normal phone in your house and when you got over 1000 ft away it automatically switched to a cell Tower so your home phone would always be with you. This may be where we are getting cell phones and computers working off the internet. Now all the cell phones are in a scramble as Skype.com has started cell phone internet service very cheap. it is in several European countries now. Unique and AgedTramp,
I very seriously believe that we will use technology to continue to gain many of the advantages of telepathy. We've done so much already - anybody in any densely populated & developed region can instantly talk to anyone else (meeting those criteria) using a device weighing a few ounces. All we need to do is surgically implant cell-phone like devices (which ?maybe? also monitor nerve impulses the way AgedTramp describes), keep them powered, and continue to extend our 'coverage areas'. |

Powering them is the easy part. Solar panels are getting smaller and more powerful. Eventually they'll be able to spray a film of 'solar cell' onto a pair of glasses (think foster grants), which could then be used to power the mini-pc's.
Re-chargable toothbrushes don't have electrical contacts with the charger. The same method could be used to re-charge the battery in the mini-pc. |
