I have recently discovered the phenomenon known as 2012, where as the Earth will truly be in the center of the galaxy, according to the Mayan calandar. This might switch the polarity of the earth causing the demise to mankind. I feel somewhat helpless as I think about it because so many other cultures point to this date claiming it is the day the apocalypse. What are everyones thoughts on Dec. 23, 2012? Your information about what happens on in December 21, 2012 is not accurate. The earth will not be in the center of the galaxy. The Mayan Calender ends on this date (when it is translated by our calendar.). This is what happens on that date: Our sun will reach the galactic equator of the milky way. This is NOT the center of the galaxy. The equator is the ring that circles around the edge of the galaxy. Our solar system is located on the outer edge of the galaxy and no where near the center of it. The center of the galaxy is a black hole. We are a long way from that. Something has changed in the axis of the earth already. It is tilted more. The sun, if you will notice, now rises in a slightly different place, not enough for most people to notice. So either the earth has tilted or the solar system itself has tilted to match the tilt of the galaxy. What the solar system going to do is cross over to the other side of the galaxy by passing through the galactic equator. This is a dangerous time for the earth, but I believe we will make the cross over although there may be a lot of destruction. (A solar flare could erupt and destroy the earth, but I don't think that will happen.) Our solar system did not originally come from the Milky way galaxy, but was "captured" from another galaxy so that is why it sits at a different angle than the milky way galaxy. As this "capture" continues I believe the solor system is tilting to match the Milky way galaxy. This event happens a lot when galaxies collide and adopt new stars. I agree that no one knows when the end of the world will be. I don't think this event will be the end of the earth, but some have called it the end of time as we know it. That could mean that time itself will be different, which is not difficult to believe if the solar system undergoes any significant changes. After all, time and the calendar are dependent upon the movement of the planets around the sun. So time may change. Many other things could change too. But this event is not a fantasy. It is a fact backed up by astronomy and astrology. JB |
