ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE....Can we thwart the will of God?

No, you can't really do that!
I don't know...Possibly, but why would you.

I think A lot of people try But I do not believe they Can

Compound W gets rid of "thwarts"

ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE....Can we thwart the will of God? I certainly hope so. Otherwise it would mean that rapists and murderers, etc, are doing the will of God. So if the scripture says we can't then clearly the scripture is wrong. Either that or it’s God’s will that people rape and murder. |

God gives us free will to thwart if we must but His will is always accomplished. It just may not be the original path he had planned out for us. I seem to have taken the hardest, longest path there is BUT, I do know his plans and will be lived out in me. It just will take me longer :)

Psalm 103:19
"The LORD has established His throne in the heavens,And His sovereignty rules over all." In addition, if some of you believe we CAN thwart the will of God, How is He still sovereign as scripture says. |

thwart
To prevent the occurrence, realization, or attainment of: |

What are you meaning by "will of God" like his ultimate plan for us or are you talking free will. I'm a bit confused.

God's will...What HE WILL'S TO DO. God has one main reason's for doing things and it's not for us...it's not all about us...God's purpose for everything is to showcase HIS glory. So His will is what HE will's to do. What His wants are. Like if He wanted someone to come to salvation would that person be able to say no? And if they could they would then be thwarting the will of God.

And if they could they would then be thwarting the will of God. You are confusing desire with will. God desire's us to all be saved, but it is not God's will to force us to be saved. We all work against God's desires daily, but nobody can go long against God's will. Jonah fought God's will and lost, the same happens to anyone who opposes God's will. |

Yes, we can say no to salvation even up to our deathbed unfortunatley. Here's my hope. I hope that in that last stage before we are completely dead, Christ comes to those unsaved and shows himself and gives them on more chance to choose him because he loves them so much. BUT there will still be those who will not choose him no matter what. So yes, that is one reason hell was created. He has given us free WILL for a reason. but yes, his plans are not about us. We are fullfilling a purpose here on earth and the purpose being saving those who are unsaved.

But remember, it's not a surprise to God who chooses him and who doesn't. So he is still sovereign even if some choose hell instead of him

I believe they go hand in hand if God desires something to happen it's going to happen. Right?

Before salvation I couldn't choose God it was impossible. Yes I had faith and believed but that faith and beliefe was a gift from God. I couldn't have said no to God because He predestined me.

I believe they go hand in hand if God desires something to happen it's going to happen. Right? No, because the Bible is clear that God desires for all men to come to repentance, but many do not. |
Yes but doesn't is say God WILL's for all to come to repentance?
I'm asking (not arguing just so you know...it's a real question not a debate) I've actually never known how that scripture fit in with predestination though I've tried to find out. |
