The Mark of Cain: An Anatomy of Jealousy
by Willard & Marguerite Beecher Because it's a good book! It's pretty small, 188 pgs... talks about how people with jealous mindsets have a really hard time focusing on goals, concentration skills, and lots of other things. The goal of it is to realize how jealousy bleeds into every facet of someone's life, unknowingly. |

Songs of innocence and experience
William Blake 1775 I don't think it would be your cup of tea ![]() |

The Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers
Just about anything by Orson Scott Card, but especially "Ender's Game" I heard Isaac Asimov wrote a terrible book once. I looked and looked and looked and never found it. All he has is a plethora of amazing ones...oh well. Anyting by Terry Pratchett, especially his Discworld series I actually thought Jane Eyre was good, and my sister insists almost everything else Jane Austen wrote is good too. |

The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco if you want that's something historical and philosophical. It's a better read than Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code. As for something that is romantic, what popped in my head was this classic, A place in the sun. It's a good read.

Paulo Coelho's The alchemist is quite good too, bit inspiring
|
|
|
|
The Brain That Changes Itself.
Siddhartha, or just about anything by Hermann Hesse. |

![]() ![]() I read that -- it was, uh, interesting.... A bit dated, because it was written in 1950; and it seemed odd to me that Hubbard believed so many people's problems (resulting in their "engrams") came about because their mothers had unsuccessfully tried to abort them. I actually preferred Hubbard's "Battlefied Earth," a very long sci-fi novel later made into a movie that unfortunately featured John Travolta. |
