Why does everything have to turn into a debate? Why can't people of faith just express their experiences etc without being challenged on it? Do you want a more personal relationship with God or not is more the question? That's something no BBS can do for anyone dear heart.
God bless your journey of knowledge & understanding of God & His ways. That you discover His truthes. |

...get tired of debating on religion, and never come to any understanding. I'm one of the most passionate debaters on here (at least i feel it that way), but honestly I feel so tired. It's always going and going in circles without an ending. I need a little bit of time off. it's not going in circles that's why people claim faith so that they don't have to think or discuss beyond the belief ask a hard question about people beliefs and then they clam up and claim faith ... it's like someone in court on the witness stand and the prosecutor asks a leading question and the person on the stand plead faith (the fifth) on the grounds that it might incriminate them so it's not going in circles because everytime someone claims faith then you know that they don't know and then it because a study in why people choose to deceive theirselves |

A thread discussing how tired or arguing TLW is turns into an arguement? And who is surprised at who wants to argue? I've got better things to do with my time that rehash the same arguements again and again and again and again...

What if we have asked ourselves the hard questions and found our faith to still be standing? Why doesn't have possiblity even exist in your mind? That possibility doesn't hold water as far as I'm concerned. I've given my reasons on these forums and no one has yet to address them. Every time I give my reasons people use every tactic in the book to cause distractions and avoid the real issues. The bottom line is really quite simple. The biblical story is supposedly about an all-powerful, all-loving, all-wise, all-perfect God, yet everything in the book flies in the face of these premises. God's heaven is supposed to be 'perfect' yet his angels didn't think so. God is supposed to be all-wise, yet he couldn't figure out how to solve the problem to make everyone happy. God is supposed to be all-loving, yet instead of intervening early on, he waits until the whole planet is corrupt and then this supposedly all-loving God drowns everyone. This supposedly all-powerful God who can cure cancer in people had to drown out the sinners? He couldn’t just have given them heart attacks??? This God is supposed to be able to do anything, yet he cannot forgive sin without a blood sacrifice? He cannot look upon, sin either. There are so many holes in this story that it could be used as a sieve. People want to focus on Jesus as God, but even that flies in the face of what the original God of this religion had commanded. Jesus cannot be the God of Abraham. Period. And even if he could be, then why bother praising Jesus? Why not praise the original God? The whole story is an oxymoron. Nope. It’s not something that I would even give the slightest possibility. It can’t possibly be true, whist maintaining it’s original premise that God is all-powerful, all-loving, all-wise, and all-perfect. Something’s got to give. Either the story is false, or the God isn’t all-powerful, all-wise, all-loving, and all-perfect. It’s as simple as that. Take your choice. that is your choice, and i congratulate u for ur enlightment, yet that does not mean it has to be everybody's choice. furthermore, u didn't get the spirit of the thread. i don't understand why personal agendas clouds people's eyes. this is not an argumentative thread, it was never intended for debate. but then again we proselytize in either side christian or non-christian. my question remains unanswered who we really are? who are the hypocrits? |

To Others: You are challenged on it because it needs to be challenged in some circumstances. This is a discussion forum. I have asked questions and I would appreciate simple reasonable answers. If you want to just say, I don't know, but I just believe, I will drop the subject. But when people tell me that they have the truth and that I "just don't understand".. okay, then help me to understand by answering my questions. Some have even told me that I will never understand until I am "born again" and in order to be "born again" I must accept the illogical without question. In other words, they tell me I must believe the unbelievable before I can understand. The price to pay is to have blind faith in them. Not God. Them. And I have seen too many frauds to do that. So all I ask for is intelligent reasonable answers to my questions. But I am beginning to reach the point where I'm going to stop asking. It is a futile effort. JB |

Some understand your non-committal approach to being your own safe harbor in your own articulate way...... It is quite humorous, actually. Noting can get by that, that you don't have control over. But not all can be controlled, my friend. Nor should it be so. Show some love, laugh a little, get a giggle and give one, just a little. |

It's always going and going in circles without an ending. I need a little bit of time off. This might be the source of your headaches. You are a good guy, even though we disagree. You feel passionately about your beliefs and this forum isn't a game to you. You are one of the few who isn't here to offend or waste time. Enjoy your time off. Why can't people just be happy with their beliefs? Why do they have to go around trying to convince others? Why do they hold on so tightly? Why are they afraid of asking the hard questions? What if everybody is completely wrong? JB Having trouble uploading your pictures with the new profile Alex? bl8ant? oya9? E-mail me and I will help you with that. |

if you are tired of debating then what the heck are you doing in a debating forum ...do you also go to the grocery store to complain that they sell groceries ...and people wonder why I use the word delusional I have to agree with Funches on this point. If people don't want to debate religion why do they bother going to a religion discussion forum in the first place? It seems silly to me. Like he says, it would be like going to a grocery store and complaining that you're sick and tired of the fact that they sell groceries. It's utterly ridiculous. |

I enjoy a good stimulating debate. Now I'm being made to feel that I should be some happy happy joy joy joke joke kind of person who doesn't really talk about anything important or thought provoking.
I am not the mushy, flattering, gushing type of person. In fact that sort of thing makes me want to roll my eyes, and most of it is not sincere anyway. LOL. I like conversations that challenge my thinking, I like to ask questions and challenge people. But since they don't like it, I guess I will just ignore them. I will be doing tarot card readings in the game threads. JB |
