Endless blue sky
Separates us now All those dreams we shared Have turned to precious memories This heart once so full of your love Now feels empty You promised you would come home to me And that promise you kept I admire how hard you fought Even after you were safe at home, That pain you endured, I felt it too. It killed me to know, I was powerless to stop it. I loved you more Than any woman could love a man You saved my life, The only life-raft in a violent sea of despair. You taught me to believe There is no such thing as impossible You showed me that love is worth the risk, Crying is always okay And true love will always prevail. All too quickly you were ripped away Your battle is finally over This year on the day You would have turned twenty-eight, There will be tears. Many more than have been shed already But since I know up there You're still able to hear and see I'll force a smile Because you'll never know how proud you made me. Still do.. Thank you for all you have ever done I love you My soldier |

That was very heartfelt- Thank you for sharing that.
I am from a family of military men and women, my son is currently serving the USAir Force and I too am proud of him. What a way to remember all those who have and still do serve proudly. Great writing... |
