My cat has had drainage from his one eye for a week or so, but I thought it was just his usual allergy thing. But today I came home and it was all pus-like and goopy. He seems OK otherwise. I have an appointment at the vet for tomorrow. Does anyone know what this is and if he's going to be OK? I've had him since he was a kitten and he's almost 18. I'm freakin' out.

it could very well be just an allergy...or maybe he has scratched himself in the eye area and now it's infected. I hope they get him all better when he goes to the vet tomorrow.flowerforyou flowerforyou

Sounds like an eye infection, need some antibiotics, I would say. I am not a vet though. If you can put warm wet clean rags on it until you can get to the vet.

Have you checked for abrasions on it's eye? I had a cat that rubbed itself against something sharp and it got a slight cut on her eye. Just look at it's eye in a good light and see if the eye has any rough or greyish spots.

Infection. Anti-biotics will probably clear it up.
