End To

I took a walk,
T'was the end to a day.
To my sea,
To feel the blue, salt spray.
Needing to tear,
And wash away sad,
Past the concrete,
To the sandy, shored pad.
Slowly, I stepped,
Immersed in my fade.
Picking my flowers,
A hand filled bouquet.
Those that I pulled,
Their stems broke, expected.
Stretched to their limit,
Plucked, some rejected.
Some were snipped,
The strength they imposed
Kept them from snapping,
They were easier to hold.
Those who had been bent,
Snapped from the careless,
Passerby's shuffling,
Not thinking where they stepped,
Were the ones,
I saw first.
Obvious to me.
Their dry was much worst.
I held them all caring,
Their beauty revealing,
Flowers in hand,
And chosen, so healing.
A gift as I walked
This end of a day,
To my sea, picking flowers
And a blue-eyed, tear spray.
