Rev 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. I submit the seven mountains are the group of seven nations (G-7) formed in 1976. Please don't try to bring old superstitions into modern-day politics. It's silly.

Egypt
Persia ? I am missing one in there. Greece Rome 6) of Rome...is and is not 7) coming soon to the world Something like that, is accepted teaching on that. Spurgeon thought that England represented the "whore of Babylon" in some ways. Many will say it is the USA It may be "World, Inc." or somethinglike that. We just don't know. If Jesus wasn't accepted universally by his own, how will this be known universally? I do not believe we will all see it coming to apss without pinching ourselves if it does. One prophecy states that Isra-el must be a nation once again after being dispersed and in the generation that sees that, that same generation shall see the end culminating with the "son of perdition". Biblically, a generation is 70 years for a man to live. Some hints say 100 and others say 120 years is a generation. Jesus ministry is timed back to the rebuilding of the wall by Nehemiah. The jews were looking for ther Messiah as per that prophecy and didn't all like what they got. Isra-el was reborn in its place in 1949.It had ben prophesied that it would, and thaT THE LANGUAGE WHICH WAS NOT SPOKEN ANYMORE WOULD BE SPOKEN BY THE NATION. OOPS, CAPLOCK.sorry. counting begins. But, is it right? 2017? 2049? 2069? and how can it not be self fulfilling with all of the attention it is given to be mindful of in the scriptures? unless "the strong delusion that they would believe a lie is present" will blind the eyes of the obvious. Is there a change and another change coming? |

It was written at a time when the Romens where in power. wiki.. The seven hills of early Rome – the Cermalus, Cispius, Fagutal, Oppius, Palatium, Sucusa and Velia – figured prominently in Roman mythology, religion, and politics. Know history and you do not have to be fearful. true, there are seven hills in Rome, actually. But they do not figure as kings and do not mesh with the allegorical metaphors that parallel the same vision excluding their viablity as the intended meaning of the seven hills. The best example is the first, when the letters are given to the seven churches which are in Asia. 1.Ephesus 2. Smyrna 3.Pregamos' 4.Thyatira 5.Sardis 6.Philadelphia 7.Laodicea This is seperate from the seven hills of Rome, but also lend themselves to being grouped in sevens as the judgement of God had been rendered to Isra-el in the past with seventy times seven;. The context for the whole prohecy is governed by the first explanation given, showing intent. Revelation 1: 20 The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. Theseven stars which you saw are the angels of the seven churches : and the seven candlesticks which you saw are the seven churches. there go the hills..... |

It's very foolish to try to apply Bible prophecies to our days.
Those prophecies were meant to signify something at the time they were written, and to teach a moral teaching to us. Nothing else. Let's not allow fundamentalism cloud our understanding of the inspired word of God. |

The Urantia book describes seven super universes.
Maybe that is what the seven mountains are. I don't know what the woman would represent, except maybe the female expression of God. |

Let's not allow fundamentalism cloud our understanding of the inspired word of God. Jesus gave prophecys to warn the people when to flee when the anti-Christ comes to power. I am sorely confused at why Jesus would offer warnings and prophecies to the people who live during the tribulation, if they were not meant to be used by the people who live during the tribulation. |

Cheney - Remember Bush's colonoscopy in 2002? short space indeed Rev 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. #8. The beast to come Now you know why Hillary won't give in - I don't think she believes McCain or Obama to be the beast. A female president would be considered a queen, and delay the coming of the beast! The Anti-Christ will come from a union of 10 counties. The WEU is composed of 10 countries, the US is composed of 50 states. The WEU has five Monarchys United Kingdom - Queen Elizabeth II Belgium - King Albert II Spain - King Juan Carlos Netherlands - Queen Beatrix Luxembourg - Grand Duke Henri When there are four queens and one king, there will come a time when one of the queens will die and a male heir will take the throne. He will only sit on the throne a short time. I don't know if there is any truth to what I just posted, but it makes more sense than calling Presidents kings. |

That's true, but it's also true that many New Testament writers, including Paul wrote of a singular anti-Christ who will be involved in the end times. Jesus warned against this man. word by word interpretations of the Scripture without analyzing the whole context of meaning leads to clouded conclusions. You should take your own advice. |

The beast to come Now you know why Hillary won't give in - I don't think she believes McCain or Obama to be the beast. A female president would be considered a queen, and delay the coming of the beast! I don't see the US figuring into any of the prophecies. Because we won't survive as a nation? We are definately in trouble. As to the scripture spidercmb is refering to: "Jesus gave prophecys to warn the people when to flee when the anti-Christ comes to power. I am sorely confused at why Jesus would offer warnings and prophecies to the people who live during the tribulation, if they were not meant to be used by the people who live during the tribulation." This warning was given to the Jews. They will be enamored with THE antichrist, as will the rest of the world. He will be charismatic, intelligent, and very politically adept. But he will lose the Jews when he proclaims himself to be their god. The Jews will eventually recognize Jesus as their Messiah, and will be in danger for turning away from the antichrist. As Christians, we believe the Bible to be the Word of God, written by His Spirit, thru men. "Foolishness to the (spiritually) dieing." Revelations and other prophetic biblical writings, are no easy read, as events aren't always chronilogically layed out. But now, with computers and "all knowledge increased", more studies by scholars of Greek, Hebrew, archeology, and history, we are seeing a clearer picture. When my mother was a kid, it was impossible to understand how "all eyes will see Him", at once, when Jesus returns. Easy, now, with satellite, computers, and television. Understanding is now rushing in. It wasn't supposed to be understandable until the right time. The odds against being able to self-fulfill all the prophecies renders it as close to impossible as you can get. There are just too many factors, too many components that have to come together at the right time, involving the right people and nations. There has been a lot of confusion, but it is clearing up. BTW: I expect to see Obama president. It will not matter what he does or says. If this isn't his year, it will be Hillary, AN antichrist, who will further a path to Obama securing the "throne". I would not be surprised if Obama becomes a world leader, beyond the U.S. We have watched for China and Russia to join forces for years. They are in the beginnings. It is prophecied that they will join forces to invade Israel. Years ago, nonchristians laughed at that prophecy. And they will lose, big time. I've studied and read the Bible for over 30 yrs, but I am no scholar or apologist. There is a growing number that is. There are some very highly regarded scientests and thinkers turning to Christ due to increased knowledge. Of course, most won't, just as most people won't. But it cannot be said that everyone who turns to Christianity is intellectually inferior. You probably won't hear much or anything about them, if you don't read nonbiased or Christian reports. And how do you know what to believe about Bible teachings if you don't read all of it yourself? With an open heart to truth. On another personal note, God is always mentioned in the Bible in the masculine form. It is why Jesus called Him Father. It is why we have fathers on earth, as a symbol and help in understanding the loving father-heart of God. Just as early animal sacrifices were symbolic of the "sacrificial lamb" in the form of Jesus Christ. |

There's no real point in bickering as to what one king is or not. The fact of the matter is that you don't know.
Jesus himself didn't even know, only God the father knows when the end of the ages is, and it's just utterly pointless for you to even be arguing this. Mark 13:30-33: "....This generation shall not pass away, until all these things be accomplished....But of that day or that hour knoweth no one, not even the angels in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is." :\ |

The US WILL survive , even though we may be in troublesome times....but one thing for sure is..... God's people are coming together...and This nation IS returning back to God !!!
The Praying christians of the world need to speak Healing over a nation, and we need to pray like never before....but we should never speak death over a nation. God's Word never tears down.....but edifies and encourages and uplifts. We have to be careful with our Words...that we don't speak death ..but life. Spoken in love.... |

You should take your own advice. I do, if i shouldn't I would believe that Adam and Eve are real characters from whom the entire humanity comes from. That's what Jesus believed and taught. Matthew 19:4-5 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'"? Notice that Jesus said "Have you not read", he's quoting scripture from Genesis 2. Jesus' stamp of approval was placed upon the belief that the first man and woman were Adam and Eve. Jesus used it to teach the people and correct their understandings about marriage and divorce. |
