But...everytime I turn the computer on, the death toll gets higher.

Some of the photos remind me of 9/11.

Whole towns just crumbled into heaps. They havent even reached the area of the epicenter yet..
Such destruction that they are having to march soldiers in on foot.

I read that they don't want rescue workers to come in. Only money and supplies.

I found it interesting that they said that it had been 30 years since they had a large earthquake. We had California.

They are saying that they will rebuild better buildings this time..

The Olympic venues were not damaged.

I have a funny feeling that some countries would not have been sad to see the Olympic venues go down.

The first soldiers have reached the disaster area near the epicenter. In one town they found only 2300 survivors out of the towns 9000 population. Another town was completely leveled.

Frances nuclear watchdog agency says there is no word about the damage to nuclear facilities. There are several nuclear reactors within 60 miles of the epicenter.

12 Americans visiting Pandas are still missing!

That could be very very bad if the colling towers or reactors were damaged.

The death toll is growing.

Fanta, have you heard if the damns have been compromised or not?

I saw the news and was reminded of something - the one child per family law. Sooo many parents have lost their one child. How heart wrenching.

That's alot of damns. They can't handle another disaster if the damns break.
