If you could see into the future and knew you would have a couple of fantastic years with a certain someone, but that it would eventually end....would you even bother? Why? Why Not?

i've so thought about this and ya know i'm now thinking that it wouldn't be so bad to have a relationship as u described as long as it was good while it lasted

I had 3 fantastic years with an ex that I wouldn't trade for the world. Sure, it didn't work out. A lot of time was lost. Not to mention... money. But in that time, I learned a lot about what I really wanted from a relationship. I built up self-confidence. I traveled and got to see places I never would have otherwise.
Then again, I was very young and wasn't in a hurry to find someone I'd spend the rest of my life with. I wanted it. It just wasn't at the top of my priority list. I can see how that would change some things. |

I think if I knew in advance that it wouldn't be lasting it would definatly change how I much of myself I would give to the relationship and :thus, shortchange it. That would not be good as I like the full impact of a relationship...I could have a casual relationship if I new in advance that would be all it would be...just that it would not be without the loss of experiencing the TRUE me. Does this make sense?
