Lavender Fields

The remains of the day
in past are surrounded
in the comforting blanket of lavender
the blue of love's hope

bathing one in the
pristeen ripple of its cooling presence

it's heady aromatic healing
has surrounded the memories of the battle's scar
the toppled old stone structure of the fortress
gray and crumbling

built by a heart that could not be protected
only held by the ancient field
surrounding hearts dream

remembering in strength fading
loves imaginings

there remains its tall
columned stature
arms reaching and fingers hungry to hold the sky

feathering the visible lace
as the wind sends its secret yearnings
dispelling purpose

and heritage blooms
beckoning to cover
loves embrace
again
..lavender..

alive with butterflies,
stardust sparkling in there eyes
Violet petals playing heartstrings.
Dazzled beneath a stream
It's sweet serenity
In lavender fields of dreams.
