Ok, was thinking about posting this a while ago, but I think its time to do it now.....

Let's discuss what is the proper way to maintain a thread that you posted.... should you respond back to everyone that posts in your thread? Should you be sure to welcome new ppl that post in your thread? What shouldn't you do?


If you read a poem, should you post something to let them know you read it?

Should you post something and then leave the site?

Come on ppl.... I know that I am missing stuff... lets throw it all out there.

Responding too much clogs the boards...respond enough to be polite...but alllow the thread to die if it needs to.

I don't get this stay outta my thread business. Never was like that before. Why start a thread at all if you don't want others to post?

It's because some people on here only want certain people in their threads...and they just ignore the unwanted-non-clicky people that may post. Just like junior high only with adults.

I guess it depends on the thread? When I post, I try to comment on some but not all.......

If I read a poem or something that is nice, pretty, etc....I like to encourage and let them know it was moving

otherwise, I may just sit back and enjoy the threads......

I try to say, Hello to new members, I remember my first post and I was nerves....

I move around a lot so I can't get back to all of them.

WOW! I got that feeling once....and I decided the no one has the conrner on the threads.....

think if you're gonna start a thread there should be some attempt to keep it interesting, informative and see that it continues.

What I find funny are those that start a million (ok Im exaggerating)threads/posts without ever contributing nor participating.

Well I think when we start a thread, it does not mean you can keep certain people from posting in them. It is a public forum. And if there are people being mean, etc, that is what the mods are for.

I agree, if you are going to start multiple threads, you should try to keep up with them until they die off.

I usually can't start more than two new ones while trying to keep up with other ones.

I am farily new at this and I must say everyone has been nice to me ...so thank you nice people

And this is likely not what you meant, but this Quote button is WAYY over used. WHY is it necessary for some people when they are only the Second person to post, to copy or quote what was just said right about them???

I use the quote to make sure the person who I am replying to knows the post is for them, hence quote.

I agree with you. Maybe I am too sensitive but its does seem like they have cliques that you can not join in. I was just told by someone that i had no right to ask others on the forum if they wanted to reply to her comment. She blew up and said it was not MY thread. I meant no harm but it started a big thing.
I guess I just don't get the forum etiquette but there was no need for rudeness
