Once, as a child, upon my bed I found
A stone engraved with flowers all around Birds and deer danced on its surface And across the top was an encouraging message "We are never alone" My sister said it was left by fairies To bring love to a girl filled with lonliness I kept that stone as a secret treasure To banish sorrow and bring comfort "We are never alone" My heart was touched by that boon of kindness And to my sister I never did confess I saw her place the stone upon my bed that day And, though we've grown and moved away "We are never alone" |

"Songbird & The Fairy's"
A swollen moon hangs quietly;a shimmering sky As Songbird sweeps the grass on silent wing, Beneath the hanging leaves the wee folk lie Dancing and frolicking to their fairy ring. Pot bellied pipers resonate their golden flute A Goddess fairy strums her silver cello softly, The dancers swirl and spinning ever tirelessly On never ending footsteps and wings flawlessly. Sadly;only the summer nights their dance prevails No music passage is sweeter or softer to Man, Listen carefully;for the night ends too quickly Though life's enrichment they'll leave behind. As daybreak looms the fairies retire to their beds Nestling within flowers;soon they close their eyes, Resting their heads gently, they slumber and wait Meanwhile the Earth awakens to the glorious sunshine. Laughing children running through dewed green grass One girl stumbling to a halt, looking at the ground, Some tiny green turf marks where the fairies pass Beautiful flowers and toadstools growing all around. So precious;I've found a tiny circle growing green As extraordinary to any sweet new grass of spring, Just think of what pleasure that may not have seen Had you passed on a chance to meet new fairy friends. Written by CyPoet.I'd your write btw. |

When Sisters Get Together
When sisters get together, What do we really say? Talking with our mouths While our minds are at play. Sentences in snipits, Fragments incomplete, Another thought is trailed by Someone else's feet. Laughter can get loud. Our giggles, like a child. Remembering the stories. How high the memories piled! No one else can tell, Their truth. It is their own. And still the other thinks she knows Just how each heart was grown. Still, sisters grow together, Continuing our flow. Quiet times are stitched, Tears quilt, love's family sewn. Love passed along to daughters. And what will give them meaning? When sisters get together, Remember love is breathing Raine Les 4/8/2008 your poem is poignant,, so authentic |
