wow i never heard God called yaweh just a different name i have heard lord ,jehova, holy ghost,an of course the son jesus so where does yaweh come from just curious an where is it in the bible. no offense just curious Yahweh is a translation of the original 4-charactor name of god from the Hebrew texts of the bible. It means "he is" or "i am". So it was found everywhere in Hebrew bibles, and still is today, but has been changed to god or lord in the newer christian bibles. FYI- there is a lot of info available on the many names of god in jewish and christian traditions (adoni, elohim, shem, jehovah, etc.) but these traditional names are nothing like as complicated as other religions, e.g. the muslim religion has 99 different "known names of god". Simply reciting the names of Allah takes quite a while... |
