okay ms berry picker. i pick black berries, and have tried to make jam out of them, but it winds up being thin...is that because i am boiling it too long or what... it is runny, and i think that i do not have the correct proportion of berries, to sugar to pectin. u have a recipe?

it sounds like a pectin problem. i also pick berries from my yard. i just throw them all in together. i had one batch that ended up running. i called it kristy's blunder and poured ity over ice cream. you might also try your's over pancakes. we'll call it surup.
