They call it tough love
I pray the angels from above Watch over him and show him the way To a brighter future and better days He's no longer the boy I raised Alcohol took over and consumed his days As a mother my heart just breaks I asked him to leave,it's all I can take Justin so many tears I have cried for you Tough love is all I have left to do I know in my heart the man you can be Please open your eyes so you to can see That life can be amazing each and everyday Please Lord help him again to find his way... |

Sometimes Pam they leave us no choice. All we can do is be there when they finally wake up to what they have done. It is a very hard thing to do but...for our own sanity at times we have no choice. My heart goes out to you.

I will continue to pray for your son. Not too long ago (couple of years) I had to make my one son move out. I could not take it anymore. He was disrupting our lives and making everything misserable for everyone in his family. His drinking got so bad he was never sober. He abused everyone in his path. I prayed daily for him. There comes a time when we have to let go- because we have done all we can do for them. It is hard-but is nessesary. I put up with this behavior for eight years. The doctors, social workers, etc... asked me why I did'nt let go before I did. I was so afraid he would die from this. (alcohol and mental illness). I still fear- I will get that call someday. I AM THERE for him and still speak to him. But he is not allowed to stay with me anymore. He is slowly drinking himself to death. We have done everything we can. Have interveined a ton of times. He has to be the one to want to quit. No one else can do it for him- no matter how much we love them. We have put him in rehab, jail, mental hospitals, you name it. Still he goes right back to it- when he gets out. I was not living- when he was in my home. I was nervouse, did'nt sleep well, allways on edge and fearful when he still lived with us. I had to let go. It was the hardest thing I ever did. I am more at ease in my life now. It is hard watching them self destruct. I know this is hard sweetie- but you have to do it. He will drag you down with him- if you don't do something. Been there, done that, still doing it, and still watching it... Mine does it because he thinks it helps his mental illness. It only makes it worse though. You ever need an ear... I am here! |

Oh Pam sweetheart, my prayers go out to you today. I feel your pain as I have had problems trying to mend things with my daughters. It's hard, but they are finally facing adult life and it's not easy anymore. Send him down here to me...I have ways of bringing people like him to their senses. I work it everyday and I jump down these young kids who think they are invincible. I don't see them anymore after that. Love ya Pam, and my prayers go out to your guidance.

pk, I am going through the same thing with my son. It is the hardest thing you will ever do. It makes you feel as though you are failing them as a parent but to help them kill themselves is not being a good parent either.
Great write |
