this means they are living off MRE's... which kinda sucks. If i see another one of them i think i'm going to choke someone It's amazing how good a cooked meal seems after living off bagged food for weeks or even months on end. MRE's are a delicacy when compared to C-rations. For a Reg Army Infantry Unit not having a hot meal for days is standard. I have went up to 120 days without one. Yes it sucks, but that's normal... NG's are soft. That's why they are guarding a prison instead of being on the front. |

After 2 or 3 days you'll forget about how bad they taste. Reg Army Infantry Units feel lucky to get one hot meal a day, and they are never hot. I tend to agree with Lindy on this one. It sounds like bleeding heart, left-wing BS. These men and women arent on a boy scout camping trip, and the NG shouldnt even be there. The only reason they are is so Bush wont have to start a draft. At least they are in a safe location and probably sleeping on a cot each night. They could be in Sadr City! |

Why would liberals need to stretch the truth in any way there is plenty of real things to spread around negtivly about the war, from the fake GI letters to the editors to abu graib to the fabricated Jesica Lynch story and the whopper of WMDS I think in reality it is just KBR or halliburton trying to make a few more bucks by short changeing the men, after all these are for profit corperations and the easiest way to turn a profit is to cut back on services allready paid for

You are misunderstanding me. Soldiers dont always get a catered meal.
Reg Army have their own cooks, but even they are not always able to get the meal to the troops, for a variety of reasons. I have no idea where this uard Unit is getting their meals, but the bleeding hearts have gotten hold of this story and are portraying it as a travesty. When in reality it is very common for a soldier to go days without a prepared meal. These troops are being fed. It may not be mom's homecook meals, but they are being fed well. When their MRE's run out holler again! |

Ido not know what time you served but the army rarly does its own cooking it has been outsourced to KBR and the like and has been like this for a few years now, even when I was in basic trainingat FT Knox the cooks were all employed by contractors. You can try finding the specifics of this in the Documentary Iraq for sale its free on Utube here is part of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYvQegtYDjk

What a screwed up way to run the Army. Oh well, still C-rats, or MRE's are still very nutritous and these whiney little girls wont starve. |

My nephew told me they give demerits in Basic training. Boy our military sure has went to hell in a hand basket.
Demerits, no cooks, soldiers whining about missed meals, and no armor protection. They better hope they dont have to fight a real Army!! |

Why are they in Iraq anyway ?!. !.
They all should be home : there is no place like home ! !. |

Why are they in Iraq anyway ?!. !. They all should be home : there is no place like home ! !. I agree! Its an illegal war, but soldiers die, and they go hungry. Thats just the way it is. Bush and Rummy have screwed our military. God help us if we are forced to fight a real war, against a real Army. |

If they really wanted to end the ****, they should attack, street by street, house by house through SADR City confiscating weapons and killing all who resist.
Of course mommy and Daddy had better be ready for real casualty figures. And I mean like doubling the number of dead in just a month or two. |

The enemy doesn't have them!! We shouldnt be there at all, but why *****-foot around for another 100 yrs? |

It kills me that they call in an F-16 to bomb a couple guys with a mortar or an RPG. Start the draft and man up!

Really, though, I just do not see how something like this could have avoided the media for so long if it were true and had been going on for a while. Makes no sense. Lindyy |
