There is something that I don't understand. The OP is a 20 y/o EMT atheist in the process of obtaining a religious arts degree. Kinda smells like that basement I worked in today.

so the soul is supposed to be on the periodic table Lol! No friend, the point I am trying to make is that oxygen, argon, neon, whatever gaseous elements are listed have weight. You can't see or touch them but you know they are there. Poor analogy? Possibly. I will shut up and head for bed before I advertise the full capacity of my stupidity. Nite all!

religion aside...do you have faith or hope in anything????? example...faith that you team (who has been on a losing streak) will win the game. hope that someone you love will pull through in a bad situation? |

Soul is translated from "nephesh", which literally means breath. The soul is the divine spark that allows life. All living things have a soul, but only humans have a spirit. The spirit is the "image" of God in which man was created.
Soul is a state of being, all organisms are living or dead. That means you cannot touch a soul, no more than you can hold a "hot" or a "cold". You can't get a "soft" or a "hard" at your local hardware store (even though the name might be confusing...), because those are properties of objects, not objects in and of themself. |
