I'm sure that many people here don't actually read the profiles of some people they are inviting as friends.
If you are inviting someone to be a friend, make sure your settings are adjusted so invited friends are able to contact you. It's no use inviting someone of say 50 years of age and you only want to hear from people between the ages of 37 and 45. It's all very well if you contact them first. Then reverse contact is possible. Otherwise don't think that the person you invited is ignoring you. Just ensure that your settings are adjusted accordingly.
