Every year through my car shop we donate two vehicles. I buy hail damaged, or lightly damaged car/vans at auction, and repair them. I open a yellowpages up to local churchs, and throw a dart at the page. Whichever church it lands on I go toalk to the pastor/priest/reverend and ask about their neediest family in the congregation. I meet personally with the family, and if they meet the criteria, I hand them the keys to the car/van, and pay the registeration transfer. I try to get the congregation to donate enough for a decent amount in fuel cards, and/or insurance for the vehicle for a year. Oh, and this year I donated something a little bit better that I got through inheritance to an organization, but it was actually a member on here who gave me the idea. Not from my body, but I used to donate plasma, does that count?

Shameless plug coming: You can donate all of your old cell phones to them, with or without the charges they are given to women, and 911 always works from them.....

and lots of people donste at the holidays, but they need food all year long.... So, donations are appreciated at other times. Call your local shelter for drop off points....

I did a fundraiser for them one year in September, and got 9 cases of food, they allowed me to go directly to the shelter, and when I got there, there were about 8 adults and 13 kids, they had 8 cans of green beans for lunch, and didn't know what they were going to do for dinner...

you don't remember what I am talking about, do you? You suggested I donate my fathers house to a battere womans organization. After thinking it over, I did it. Fully furnished.

I can't donate my organs, they don't want them. I am a smoker. I find it too painful to donate plasma, or blood anymore. I did it for 4 years for my brother, and after he died I just couldn't handle the hospitals anymore. I know I am a chicken ****, but too many memories. It sucks too, because I am a universal donor. maybe one of these days I will get the courage to do it again. Props to you man, it is a courageous thing you do

My Dad had a liver transplant about 7 years ago. Gave him 4 more years. That's why I am an organ donor. Not going to take them with me. As for the blood - same thing, my Dad needed blood transfusions and it helped keep him around. If it weren't for those, I would never have been born.

But I hate hospitals too man. Hate them!!!

My work has a blood drive every 4 months. They come here so it is a little different.

am an organ donor and i give blood and plasma as frequently as i can. they give ya 30 plus bucks to donate plasma. but the lines are always long when i go and it takes forever to get it done.
