I have found this special place.
That will bring a smile to your face.
And will make you want to embrace.
Birds fly with such grace.

It's so far off the beaten trail.
The air is always sweet and never stale.
Life goes by at the pace of a snail.
You might think this is a story tale.

Getting there you will have to climb.
It is away from all the crime.
The birds and animals all seem to ryhme.
When there you have nothing but time.

It's hidden in the forest very deep.
You cannot get there by a jeep.
Some of the trails are very steep.
You will see animals run and leap.

There are many animals even goats.
You can not get there even by boat.
Or even by a homemade float.
But at night you may need a coat.

There are running streams.
And pools of water that steam.
Ohhh yes this place does seem.
Like a wonderful dream.

You cannot get there by canoe.
The sky is a crystal blue.
Oh yes it seems to good to be true.
Oh what a wonderful it is to view.

The butterflies they do there dance.
The deer all seem to do a prance.
As the leopard lays upon a branch.
It will put you into a trance.

The sky is clear not even a jet.
The noon sun will make you sweat.
And the afternoon rains will get you wet.
But still the animals are no threat.

If you look so far above.
You will see a white dove.
Pearched on top a lion by the cove.
This place is truely pure love.

Looking down the valley below.
You will see a white tail doe.
Off to the west there is a rainbow.
It seems to make the forest glow.

Sitting on the rock by the lake.
Its a magical place to take a break.
As you watch a rattlesnake.
Pinch me to see if I'm awake.

Over by the tallest trees.
You can see the birds and the bees.
They play together with such ease.
Aww the feel of a cool breeze.

The flowers are all in full bloom.
You can smell there sweet perfume.
In this place there is no gloom.
For there is no room.

Watching the animals all run.
Playing out in the noon sun.
Spiders there webs they have spun.
Resting knowing there deed is done.

As I get up off of my rock.
And start my long walk.
The birds start to fly in a flock.
Off in the distance I see a hawk.

It's time to leave this magical place.
That will bring a smile to your face.
I will not leave a trace.
My memories I will embrace.

Memories of a cub laying his head in my lap.
The thought of someone putting out a trap.
As I find my way back though the gap.
That I came through I will not draw a map.

As I stand for a minute in the shade.
I know the animals are not afraid.
This day I would never trade.
I only wished I could have stayed.

txsgal you described heaven. i know this to be true. just after my mom
passed on i went to bed one night and closed my eyes and i wound up
there. i know that heaven is EXACTLY like how you described here in your
poem.
