if there is someone you truley love and care for is it better to love and wait with either the possiblilty of nothing or the possibility of that perfect life....or find someone else you can be happy with but you know you'll never care for as you did the other person?

well...for over three years we were together then business got in the way and i filled whatever role needed to be filled to make things easier for him....when things settled down he just said he couldn't handle being in love at the moment....so i told him take all the time he needs...he started dating another gal off and on but tells everyone he doesn't care for her...and keeps calling me, and trying to hang out w/ me and now its interfering with any possibilities i may have

if you wait for that person thinking he/she would return, then think again. your best bet is just to move on. as i have waited for someone to return, and he did after a yr but prior to him coming back i had met someone else, and i hurt the 2nd guy by going back to the first guy.. i made my mistake the big way

Good question and that is something I am going through right now. I am in love with someone that I know I have no future with. The problem is that everyone else that I meet I end up comparing to her and it's just never as good. So I am still trying to decide if I hold onto hope even though I know there is none or try to move on and find someone else which I don't know if there is. Wish I could be any help but I don't really know for myself. Best of luck to you though.

It sounds like it is time for a sit down with dude. He needs to decide what he wants, and it is not fair for you to get mired up in his indesiciveness.
