It's a chemical thing; a very primal male/female attraction. When we are attracted, drawn to someone without knowing a thing about them then its like a pre-approval process. All lights green to see if you are indeed compatible because I lik-kah you...you lik-kah me....It's happened to me and it hasn't always been love in the end.

Ok I'll be the bubble buster here I don't think "love" happens at first "sight". Sight is not love. It is telling you hmmm this person is nice looking, hot sexy whatever, or it tells you I hear nice things about this person and I'd like to get to know them better. Some of you mentioned falling in love the first night you met. THAT I do believe is possible. But only because you actually MET and talked etc. I just think there has to be more than just laying eyes on someone.

No. Love at first site is a concept started by romance novels, chick flicks, and Hallmark greeting cards and is therefore just a pipe dream. It's more-than-likely a crush/infatuation or a case of 'wannagetinyopantsitis'.

That's my working definition for character.

I think we learn to love (admire, respond to) people of
exceptional exhibited character, both in our families,

Love at first sight implies knowledge of the future, I think.

I think it's more important to learn to depend on a person's
exhibited character, overall. In terms of mating, it is
simply more *stable* to choose a mate of surpassing
character.

Beauty is exhibited health, also. It's function is to
advertize good health, and it is in the best interest of
propagation of one's genetic makeup to choose a mate of
good health.
