Topic: Where to go for advice. | |
---|---|
I decided I wanted to rhyme for a change.
Cold breezes stir through my empty head, This chattering has drained it, and left it for dead. But clean air sweeps my dreams awake, I silently listen, "what path should I take?" The oak rustles "left," and the elm whispers "right" And I listen intently, for advice from the night. The stars twinkle softly, too quiet to hear, and the moon looms upward, as the trees start to cheer. "Mother moon, teach me please, how did you learn your place with such ease?" She chuckled softly, a matronly sound, she smiled brigtly, and shone all around, but heavenly advice was not to be found. She smiled politely, every beam in it's place, the sun's bright light, reflected from her face. I sighed and was quiet, I gave up the chase, When I heard a "ba-thoomp" sound that seemed out of place. I listened intently and heard it again, I pondered a moment, and suddenly then, I finally understood. The beat of my heart, was muffled by the world, The bustle about me, Of life as it unfurled. I'd forgoten to listen To myself for a turn, I sigh very softly, maybe someday I'll learn. |
