This is based on a true story with my daughters and ex-wife.

The Papahood

One day, this grandfather, who had a cell phone, decided he was going to call his daughter along with his granddaughters, and leave a message on their cell phones; "Baby, I love ya." This grew to be a little comical at first, because whenever their cell phones rang, they knew it was their Papa fixing to leave them a message. They would race to their phones hoping to catch him before he left a message.
They looked forward to this call every day. They in turn would call their Papa back and tell him, they loved him also. In addition, his daughter would do likewise. And so it grew into an everyday thing that they looked so forward too.
Now, this grew into a big circle, with his four special ladies, for you see, his granddaughters' friends had said, their Papas don't call them and tell they love them. So his granddaughters got the cell numbers of their friends, gave them to their Papa, and they too in turn would get a call every day as well. This man had so much love to give, he gave it to all those who were special to him and those that were special to his granddaughters.
This became routine for months, until the old man became ill. He had to go to the hospital, where his old ticker just could not tick anymore. His oldest granddaugter got all the names, called everyone and let them know that Papa still loved them, but he was in the hospital and was not able to call. Everyone that loved this man, gathered at the hospital, all in tears, when they realized the phone calls would be coming to an end.
The old man passed away. But his love never died. It lived on in their hearts, because it still rings out, "Baby, I love ya."
Now, his middle granddaughter, said this isn't going to stop. We're going to call each other and everybody else, telling each other we love them.
Little does this man know, that when he passed, he spread a lot of love around to many special people who loved him also. He was a great man with a big heart. Also, he doesn't know he started a love chain and it will be called, The Papahood.
Then one day out of the blue, after he was buried, his daughters cell phone rang and the message came up as being a missed call, from her daddy's cell phone. The message was still left behind, "Baby, I love ya."
