I sometimes laugh at the folks who spew the standerd propoganda about the war in Iraq and often wonder how they can live in that "spun" reality. I would suggest people should read up on the subject one book I recomend is "Legacy of Ashes" by Tim Weiner, winner of the pulitzer prize, he uses freedom of information act documents and declasified material as a source, there is no spin involved and as our friend "Joe Friday" would say "just the facts Ma'm. It is a real eye opener as to how the world realy operates and is available at that liberal institution known as a public library.

I think a Nuremburg type tial for Bush and his gang of war criminals would go a long way in mending the fences in the middle east and defuse the tensions but again I do recomend the book "Legacy of Ashes" as it tell s the tail of our CIA in a most realistic manner and also details how america has over thrown democraticly elected governments and supported right wing dictators. the examples are many though we americans do not put much thought into the crimes of our government the victims of these actions do.

I'm with you Madison...these people are nuts.
Bush lied to the entire world...several times...started a large scale war...while "protecting" us got many of our sons, brothers, sisters killed...attempted to take away our rights...went into a country we had no business being in...and managed to F*ck it all up so bad that it will take years and years to repair. And for those of you who want to compare these vets to Vietnam vets...I'd say that would be most appropriate. Because this war is really no different than the Vietnam war was. A percieved threat, American lives being tossed away. So think back on Vietnam and how you felt about that war...because it is happening again and will only continue if McCain is elected. The guy is a Warhawk, plain and simple. To quote a speech from the Vietnam era,"America will no longer be associated with Freedom and Democracy, but violent imperialism." But who cares what the rest of the world thinks right? We are Americans! We are better! ...makes me sick... And don't even get me started on wether or not Bush is a man of God. If you don't think God knows that there is no difference between killing a man and telling someone else to kill a man...then you are dead wrong. |

Sir, it was not me who spat upon you, nor would I ever do such a thing. I have great respect for those who are willing to lay down their lives for the protection of others. I just hate to see lives wasted in such a way.
I guess the plan is to stay in Iraq forever then? What if they moved their training to Vietnam? I suppose we'd bring the war there, or anywhere else in the world? I'm really just asking that we take a look at the path we are on. And no I don't believe the media. But that begs an interesting question, why exactly is it that we are willing to put up with being lied to by either the media or our president? Because we have become complacent and apathetic. So people who decide to speak up against the powers are practically laughed at. I'm sorry, normally I refrain from writing and preaching in such a way...but seriously, enough is enough. Open your eyes. Change. |

Change. in an early qoute...i made a statement...that it really dont matter why we are at war...i dont necassarilly believe in reasoning for being at war...but we are there...and need to look at it with an open mind...and think twice about the consequences of just pulling out... |

what is the take on Obama's statement about ppl in small town america having guns and religon, and support from their families and communities because it is a "tradition" handed down from generation to generation because the gov't doesn't listen to them? Sounds to me like he is really playing the "elitist" role. He actually is defending his remarks that ppl are spiritual because the gov't doesn't listen. What a dumbazz.

I agree, but not a single candidate is saying we should simply up and out. They are saying over the course of several years we will significantly lower the number of soldiers in Iraq. I don't think that is such a bad thing. People just over simplify it when they don't like the sound of it. |
