There is a battle
Raging within me Look into my eyes What do you see I am strong Fit and able Yet it tugs at me Like a taut cable I do not like What I must do But I will not quit Till this is through The battle rages Every day Though I am tired It won't go away I have a heart How it does hurt I wish that all Could see thier worth Sometimes I hang My head in shame I am not better Yet we're not the same I fight for what Is right and true I ignore the pain To help protect you I've moved around From place to place You don't understand I see in your face I cannot abide All the disrespcet And so my duty I will not neglect I am so tired I've fought so long Against the odds Against what's wrong A day will come When I must rest I hope God knows I did my best |
