Topic: the knowledge of God | |

The most precise method to get to know God is the inductive method which means that we need to start from experience in order to finally get to a personal theory or concept of God.
As I have stated before each individual has its own concept of God according to his/her experiences. However, such experiences has to be guided through prayer and scripture otherwise we would fall into several logical flaws. We can't figure out God without Him revealing Himself to us. Let's pray for God to grants us the blessing to let us see Him through prayer, scripture, and nature. TLW |

But isn't one of the main questions which of the three main monotheistic religions is correct? Judaism, Islam, and Christianity all make exclusive claims to truth that contradict the others. I'm just curious if that is also part of your question or if you are starting from a place of Christianity?
Thanks, Drew |

"We can't figure out God without Him revealing Himself to us"
Figuring out mysteries in God's word, and the way things are is a life long journey - an everlasting one. He does reveal things to those who follow His ways. His knowledge renders the knowledge of the world as foolishness. |

My family has been catholic for generations. I went to a catholic school from kinder to the last year of high school. Even though my family and school gave me the first seeds of christianity. I have figure out what I believe after my own experience. There are some things that the catholic church preaches with which i just don't agree. I have always said my church can teach me how to worship my Lord, but I'm the one who has to figure out how to behave and think based on my love to God. |

I don't think I can ever remember not having a relationship with God... but, if you are looking for Him through religion, look for the common theme of all religions (besides cults).... Love.... Golden Rule.... you get that down.... you find Love in your soul & you'll know God, b/c God IS Love.... & I don't mean just 'polyanna' love.... real love.... tough love, too....
I've had some pretty radical spiritual experiences that have reinforced my faith, ask me sometime if ya wanna know... |

The Sikh understanding of God is based on direct experience of a personal God in the human heart.

I’ll go along with that and add that religion isn’t even necessary at all really. But I guess that’s up to the individual who’s seeking. Everyone always seems to be searching for God. I’m pretty sure that I found God whilst I was just a little boy. Knowing God doesn’t automatically answer all the logical questions of the universe. If it did, then if anyone knew God he or she would instantly become an ultra genius. I’ve always had peace in my heart. I’ve never had to search for that. It doesn’t matter if I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear not, and never have. So I must have been walking with God my entire life based on what the sages say. And religion never had anything to do with. Religion was just an absurd manmade sidetrack as far as I can see. To each their own. JMO. |

Yep, prayer & scripture...That's right...Without those things, disparate dogma and doctrine might have fragmented Christianity into, like, over 10,000 different denominations, while undergoing major schisms, crusades, and heretical purges. Whew! Dodged the bullet on that one!
