The amazing thing is...God gives that "knowing ability " to a born again christian........to where even a baby christian can tell...whether a bunch of hogwash is being taught....or the actual Word of God. It is true.... God's Sheep DO KNOW His Voice...and the voice of a stranger they will not follow !! Amen. Amen to that dear lady. |

I once passed out in church because too many of my brain cells died while listening to a ridiculous sermon based on gross misinterpretation of scripture. Does that count? No it doesn't.......and if you misinterpreted the scripture you should of asked someone to explain it... I fear you may have misconstrued my comment...I said "...sermon based on gross misinterpretation of scripture.". I do not believe that it was I, that required additional tutelage, but rather the deliverer. I didn't make a mistake....if your brain cells were dead you could of missed the greatest sermon in the history of sermons....you would never know because hmmmmm no brain cells....so maybe additional turelage is a necessary addition to your life... How could the death of said brain cells possibly have preceded the event which actually caused their deaths? Are you an expert in pretzel logic? Since I was obviously being sarcastic in the first place, are you truly badgering (albeit in a goodly manner) me on this particular comment, or is it really because of the other, more scientific, one? Adherents of many, very different, religions experience the equivalent of being "slain in the spirit". To me, this (coupled with medical research data) indicates that the state is manically self-induced and/or also, there is one universal supreme being which encompasses all faiths. I too was only being sarcastic.......I think honestly until you have experienced there just is nothing anyone can say to put it into words. I have been given many gifts from God, and use them to praise and worship the Lord God Almighty. I too like Morningstar speak in tongues and have the gift of heealing. This along with many gifts I don't take lightly and I use them too help or to show the miracles of God through the gifts he bestows on me. |

Lordling:
In all actuality, your previous response parallels in many ways that which is understood by myself on another level from another aspect. The beauty of Christianity is the inherent hope it can and does instill into those who seek it. You see, one must first fall... before one can be picked up. Loss of hope and dependance upon one's self is a prerequisite... humility is key to one's learning. As logical as things must be for myself, the experience I had spoken of defies logic, yet is no less valid. Reasons may not be truly known, however they do exist. Self-induced is an interesting use of terms, indeed. One must want to seek, in order to seek. One must be willing to learn, in order to learn. What causes me to pause has been many of the personal extrapolations of that which cannot be known. The personification of that which is not of the human condition. There is more, it is unknown, yet molded into that which is or has been... |

I fail to agree with this... completely fail to agree... Wisdom is not instantaneous, nor is the required knowledge which leads one to wisdom... New-born Christians are just that... |

Hi Britty:
You always seem to be able to portray a perspective while remaining unabrasive... I would not dare attempt to deny value to a newly born-again Christian... there is tremendous value to be had in one's gaining hope and understanding in life. To me though, it is merely a new beginning and not the sum of all things previously learned. |

I fail to agree with this... completely fail to agree... Wisdom is not instantaneous, nor is the required knowledge which leads one to wisdom... New-born Christians are just that... Creative Soul...I agree. I was just saying that Sheep....even little lambs.... RECOGNIZE the Shepherd's Voice. It does not mean , however, that just because lambs and sheep recognize the Good Shepherd's Voice, that they automatically know all wisdom........nooo.....not at all.....cause for one, little lambs like to play ...and stray.... and sometimes the Shepherd even has to rescue the lambs from the big bad wolf....or the briar thicket....cause they like to stray. And if lambs keep straying? God may even have to discipline them. Point is....little lambs and sheep KNOW and HEAR and RECOGNIZE the Shepherd's Voice...but little immature lambs do not ALWAYS FOLLOW the Good Shepherd's Voice ....as He leads them into green pastures ..and beside the still waters.... while they can graze and rest peacefully..and in safety. No....sometimes Little lambs want to go see what is on the other side of the nice green meadows...and may even keep straying ..and become rebellious and may have to learn the hard way.....before they come baaaaa baaaa baaaaa-ing back into the fold...usually because they were nearly eaten by the big bad wolf So...yes.... lambs need time to mature into sheep and gain wisdom needed to live....it doesn't just happen automatically....of course not...... but even then, after somewhat reaching maturity, sheep are STILL EVER learning....and growing....always. Not one sheep has ever arrived. Only the Good Shepherd Knows and Has ALL Wisdom . Baaaa Baaaa Baaaa |

There is also a counterfeit "speaking in tongues"...but the good thing is, a born again spirit filled christian is able to recognize a false speaking in tongues. Satan tries to counterfeit everything ....that is why christians need to stay in the Word...daily....and stay close to God. |

What can one use for a measure to establish the validity of what is witnessed and/or experienced? How can one know the difference between what is good and what is bad, between false and true? What constitutes one's ability for an accurate value placement? More importantly, how does a newly born-again know that the spirit within them is the right one? |

MorningSong: What can one use for a measure to establish the validity of what is witnessed and/or experienced? How can one know the difference between what is good and what is bad, between false and true? What constitutes one's ability for an accurate value placement? More importantly, how does a newly born-again know that the spirit within them is the right one? Creative Soul...when one becomes born again, God's Holy Spirit will bear witness with man's spirit...that he is truly born again.....therefore he will know. God does not leave man in the dark. Also, when a born again child of God ask God for the gifts of the spirit , God will not give him a rock. Also... a born again christian's lifestyle changes....that is another way to tell. Also..There is a joy and a peace in one's life after becoming born again....there is a hunger for more and more and more of God......and a desire to tell others.... But sometimes a born again christian may not always FEEL any change right away...sometimes the change is gradual....but IF he is truly born again, the changed lifestyle will become more and more evident over time........ and his old desires will become replaced with more and more of God's desires for his life. For some christians though, this change may become evident almost overnight!! Whether overnight for some..or gradual for others.one thing is sure..The love for things of the world become replaced with a hunger and a desire for the things of God....IF one is truly born again. Does that mean a child of God won't be tempted or won't slip back into the world? No...of course not..BUT again.....IF a person IS truly born again, he will NOT stay in sinning..or go back to things of his old nature for very long..... no..... a true child of God will come running back to Jesus ....IF he is truly born again. Simply put... a born again child of God will not WANT to KEEP sinnng. If and when a christian sins(and yes, christians will be tempted sometimes to sin....cause they are saved not perfect)....but if a christian DOES give into temptation? Well Then, IF he is truly born again, he will eventually weep and cry out in BROKENESS to God for forgivness after he sins, cause he grieved the Holy Spirit... and will want to please God, IF he is truly born again. A christian CAN'T Keep sinning for long......NOT if he is born again....cause a born again christian wants to PLEASE God.... cause he LOVES GOD!!! Creative Soul? You love Your your lady...therefore, you want to please her, and not hurt her. And when you do something to cause your loved one pain, I am sure you cry out for forgiveness , cause of your love for your loved one... and want to start again . And you WON't keep hurting the one you love. Same with a child of God. BUT..some DO keep hurting the ones they love..cause they need deliverance...a whole different subject. Same goes for christians....cause although they may truly be saved, and don't WANT to hurt God, they keep doing it,anyway..... cause they need deliverance in their SOULISH areas. And that is why we need the POWER of God today, also....hence the importance of ALSO becoming empowered with the Holy Spirit, also...and not just stopping at becoming born again. God has MORE for his children!!! But.... back to the subject on how to tell you are born again.... Go to The book of John .....read again.. And Creative Soul....Here is something else that may help also: http://www.earnestlycontending.com/maranatha/six.html But the best way to tell if a person is born again : you will know a born again christian by their CONTINUAL CHANGED LIFESTYLE ...and their LOVE for God AND for one another. And also...Christians just won't be able to go back to the things of the world and STAY there !!! They JUST CAN"T...NOT if they are TRULY born again. And btw.......there are church goers ..who sit in a pew every sunday morning......who THINK they are born again...but are not...cause if they are STILL walking in the world and ENJOYING it? And it does NOT grieve their spirit? Sorry....They are most likely, not born again at all. Cause a true born again christian ( although NOT perfect, and who may even still sin on occasion)......a true born again christian is no longer OF this world......they are simply IN the world...passing thru....but they are apart from the world..and they also DESIRE to live apart from the world..IF IF IF they are TRULY born again. Does that mean born again christians can't or don't enjoy Life..just cause they are not of the world anymore? Of course not. Christians LOVE life and have GREAT Joy....but they are now living for Jesus now..and they WANT to.....and they are celebrating a NEW LIFE!!!! Again...They just don't desire the world's ways anymore. |
