What would be your reaction if a partner made a donation in your name to a charity, instead of buying you a gift for the holidays?

Depends on the charity.... I'm not much into material things anyway.. The Republican party, I assume we are breaking up.

I have onlt one charity I give to. If he picked that one I quess it would be ok. But I think giving to charity is more of a peersonal thing. Not for someone else to decide

Well it has kind of happened to me. When my father passed away, my brother and I were scrambling to get money to pay for his funeral. And my uncle thought it was best that he donated money to the american cancer society rather than help us. My brother ended up having to ask his boss for a loan.

If it was a charity I believed in, it would seem thoughtfull. Otherwise I'd be .......huh?

I think it's pretty cool actually. And when it comes with a card, you can be fairly certain it wasn't just a last minute cop out because he actually forgot you, but a genuinely thoughtful deed.

um...i could care less. i've never received many presents...so i wouldn't be losing anything. as long as he's not donating to the democratic party...we're all good, lol.
