Welcome and good luck from me as well. I suggest some pix of you smiling! A happy face will attract another happy face! ![]() Would it attract you enough to get you to NJ? ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, I do know what the dirty old fart did!!
He's nuts. I don't photograpgh well, so smiling is not an option with the big round face and Rottweiller head I have. I always think I look goofy in pix when I'm smiling. But keep 'em coming, ladies. THANX!! |

Looking for a good woman to hang with, build a relationship if it works out.
I'm originally from Elizabeth, but now reside in Sussex County. You've got to love music (anything but opera and rap/hip-hop) and you've got to love my parrot, Rio!! Long legs are a plus. Long hair is also a plus, but long, hairy legs are a no-no!!...lol. Gary |

ABSOLUTELY. A woman with a brilliant mind is a big turn on. As long as someone who's that intelligent doesn't use it as a show-offy, "I'm superior to ypu" type of thing. When I encounter that type of person, I look for the chinks in the armor and go for the kill.
A woman who is as intelligent or more so than I, though, is a definite turn-on. On the other hand, I've been with some really dumb hoochies that I've enjoyed thoroughly, although not for any extended length of time. ![]() ![]() |

Glad I got back from work. This is an awesome thread.
A lot of what and who I became was shaped by my own thinking/coping skills, but there were times in my addictions that I was reduced to an animal level and suddenly my personality and way of thinking changed dramatically. Environment, sociological influences, coping skills, survival skills (ask anyone who's ever been in combat) as well as genetics and just general life experience can alter the way we think, act, react, and even change our personalities. Now, there is also the religious (I hate that word) or spiritual realm that can have DRAMATIC effect on our personalities and affect. In prayer with my pastor and another friend, I was INSTANTLY released of my anger and walked out the door a different man. My self-esteem changed, my behaviors changed, my relationships changed through no other action on my part than asking God to change me and make me the person he wanted me to be. You can believe or not; it's your choice, and I know many people will chalk it up to something else, but no one can convince me that what happened in that prayer session (which can also get very physical when you're in the spiritual realm).....didn't happen, and God has worked in and through me many times since. sometimes, I love being able to NOT have to figure things out, or think about them too deeply, because my mind can get awfully complicated and overly analytical, but when I turn it over to God, he does the work (not that I don't have to bring my shovel when I ask him to move the mountain). We tend to over-emphasize the ration/logic/scientific/psychological aspects of our existence, when in fact the most powerful thing in the universe is the spiritual realm. Hope I wasn't too long and definitely hope I wasn't preachy (I hate that). |

Dad never drank but he is a WW@ combat vet who stayed in the jungle a little too long, I think. I certainly spent enough time blaming him for every bad choice I made and it took a long time (I'm clean 20 yrs., almost 21) to realize it MY coping skills (or lack thereof) that made me what I became and I had a lot of stuff to work through before I could forgive him, but we do have a pretty decent relationship now. After all, he's 85 and quite a bit mellower than he was then...lol. God, intelligent women are so sexy!! ![]() ![]() Gary, I'm really glad you were able to get there regardless of the time or the road. Tanyaann is both intelligent and sexy. I will pass on the compliment to her. ![]() I was talking about you as well. ![]() ![]() |

Glad to see there are some sagacious and articulate people on here. I was expecting a bunch of horny kids posting pix of their genitalia and acting like morons.
Too bad I have to run out. I'd love to stay and pontificate on my worldly knowledge and infinite insight into the human psyche..LOL!! But I have brain surgery to perform in about 20 minutes (if I can get the scalpal through my thick skull)> Actually, I have to go to work and make sure my "kids" are behaving. Peace. Gary |

Thanks for the compliment and the welcome.
I had an abusive father (physical and verbal) and have a younger sister who went through some of it, but not quite as severe. She turned out to be Miss Goodie Two Shoes, while I was the rebellious drunk, druggie, violent kid with a lot of anger. I guess shrinks would call me anal expulsive and my sister, anal retentive. It took me twenty plus years to get myself clean and "collate my fecal matter" so to speak, while sis has always been a productive member of society. An interesting side note is that we're not natural brother and sisiter, as we're adopted. There's another monkey wrench in the gears to add more confusion. Psychologists would say I rebelled and was a risk taker because of my role as the older child, while my soister conformed and caved in because orf her role as the "baby". How about the male/female dynamic as well? Did that have something to do with it? Obviuosly males are more assertive, more aggressive, more prone to experiment and rebel than females, but I surely have known more than my share of angry, rebellious, aggressive women. Go figure. Maybe it all comes down to WTF? |

Hi, new guy here.
There are a lot of dynamics determining personality development, such as: position in the family (first child, middle child, youngest child), social environment, and yeah, those jerks in high school can influence our self-image as well as the choices we make that we think are right at the time. The shrinks and sociologists can go on an on about this for decades, but I think (IMHO) that our self-esteem and self-image are what drive us to become what we become as we develop. Too bad all those kids that are targets in high school can't know what we as adults have learned!! Thanks for letting the newbie chime in!! ![]() ![]() |
