We use online dating? One of my "friends", who is no longer, and who I only knew online, ignored me for a long time. And finally I got through to her for some honesty and closure, and she just told me I was a freak for having a crush on her and never even seeing her, and that it was pathetic and i was a loser. I politely responded that I don't care what someone looks like I liked you for your personality/interests...But that doesn't matter really, to her or to anyone but myself. I know who I am and I don't need her to tell me what I am or am not, only I know. That said...How pathetic is it? How much of a loser freak am I for having a crush on someone I considered a friend that I had never seen?\ Or was she just the outlier and online dating has become pretty normal in the current times? Just forget you know her. She doesn't deserve your friendship. Just find someonelse. I am available... you can start with me... Haha thanks. I did, I told her goodbye and that was it. As to the previous poster jess, this is going to sound geeky. She and I both played a video game called world of warcraft, in same guild, progressed through the game together and with others. She was a new player and I was one of her first friends in the game. Then after we talked more we both realized we were the same age and had similar interests. My crush wasn't really shown, aside from me telling her at some point I thought i had a crush on her, which made her blush. I didn't do anything weird though, just kept being her friend. Silence for so long because she left our guild in game, and we just stopped talking. |

A lot of people view it as fantasy, like an RPG. But truth is there are real people on the other end of the conversation with personalities and emotions. On-line dating is only pathetic if the person you are talking to is just playing a game. True...I had just never thought that she would think to spurn me and our friendship because she thought I was a freak and a loser because I had a crush on her yet only knew her online. |

I think your friend has issues with it, and projected it on you. Maybe she feels like a loser for 'Having to resort to the internet' to find a date. I am way old school and I think its fine. I have to clarify that even though we only knew each other online (via an online video game), and even though we spoke in any way you can speak, she hasn't used a dating site to my knowledge...I only knew her through a video game |

I've done a lot of creative dates. Let me think of a few I've done...
Skinny dipping Sneaking into places late at night for fun Going out to a field to lay down in the middle and look up at the stars Going to a park/swings late at night Go to an arcade or lazer tag Anything random or spur of the moment can be fun Driving around late at night exploring and listening to music/singing Any sort of common hobby marathon...watch all star wars, etc Bonfire at the beach is always fun Hot tub and hammock under the stars, with fire and smores Granted, these were all when I was 16-19...I'm 21 now and haven't been on too many dates like that since, but at least they are ideas and things that can possible work. There are guys out there who like to do fun dates instead of just the easy dinner/movie |

Mind their own business? I'm serious. If people will quit meddling in others lives, creating drama, this world could be a better place. Your thoughts? I think it definitely would be best if people adopted a lifestyle where they enjoy life and like themselves and others, and don't need to meddle, create drama etc, but instead just share friendship and good experiences together. But yea, we all know that will never happen until 2052 or later. |

Probably because the higher intellectual developement of your brain between 18 and 21 is so profoundly affected by drinking that you really don't want to do it. Also the likely hood that you do not have the impulse control to not attack others and not fight back when "helping professionals" try to subdue you on alcohol. Hmm I never knew that. That brings to mind another related question, why are all other drinking ages around the world dramatically lower than ours? On that note, why is pot illegal here, when it is profoundly less deadly or severe or addictive or anything when compared to alcohol/cigarettes. Any input? |

Haha thanks. Nah I drank a lot when I was 16/17, but I guess I grew up so to speak and stopped partying from 18-now 21. Thanks for the responses :)

And I can't figure out why I couldn't legally drink when I was 18. I have hardly changed physically, or maturity wise, I was an adult in all aspects of the world at 18...except I couldn't drink.
Someone enlighten me as to why I had to wait an extra 3 years...at least it's nice to be able to drink alcohol now :) |

I am hungry for love!
But my kitten provides all the "love" (annoying, crazy, curious and indelibly cute kitten love) I need. Some human love would be great tho |

Friends with an ex is hard and basically not worth it...better just to move on to be sure.

Welcum!
Now what was your first thought when you read that? |

You can do one of two things in my mind, either have a heart to heart talk with her (communication and honesty are really good to go by), and thats the one I suggest, or you should start figuring out how to not live with that group anymore.
It's really hard being with an ex as a friend, let alone living with one. I don't know where you 2 stand but I would definitely talk with her. |
